Cleaning Reagent for Airport Lighting System and Airport Runway
Due to the high impact during landing phase and taking-off phase of airplanes, airport runways and airport lighting system’s surface are usually covered by a layer of rubber stain from the tyre of aircrafts. This layer of rubber affects the coefficient of friction of the pavement, drainage of water of pavement, reducing the deceleration of aircrafts, reducing the illumination of lightings and affect the lighting system at night. With proper cleaning of runway pavement and lighting system, the operation cost of airport can be reduced and improve the safety of airport as well.
Our products from NC3 series are surface-active agents, providing the product with good diffusion. These surface-active agents (surfactant) can melt down oil stain, and soften/liquify rubber stain. The use of complex agent can reduce of the strength of rubber stain and surface of lighting system, thus easing the removal process. Metallic ion on the surface of lighting system improves the performance of surface-active agent as well. The alkaline properties of the agent will further improve the performance of our product, making the removal of dirt stain from lighting system and pavement an easy job.Procedure and effect of NC cleaning agent on lighting with Aluminum surface
1)Runway edge inset light cleaning experiment
Cleaning procedure
A) Runway edge inset light: NC cleaning agent was applied evenly on the surface of light (can be done with pump), dipped for 10 minutes.After 10 minutes, scratch test was performed on the dirt with a metal pin. Dirt was removed easily on the top part of the equipment, but dirt on the edge remained intact.After 20 minutes, the equipment was cleaned with water jet.
Pressure of water jet applied : 0.588MPa, bubbles were observed. Bubbles from surfactant disappeared quickly.
B)Results 90% of the dirt were removed after following the procedure above. 10% of the dirt was not removed, the experiment was repeated for a total duration of 30 minutes but there was no significant result. After studying the leftover of the dirt, we conclude that the dirt are carbon powder, which is not soluble in water. Thus, we redesigned a new cleaning agent, which will be material that can apply friction on the surface, to solve the problem.Corrosion test on roadbed after applying cleaning reagent
Our NC3 products are classified as weak alkali product, along with that property, it is known that weak alkali does not corrode cement roadbed. However, most of the airport runway uses asphalt roadbed, which raised our concern. We then proceed to experiment with corrosion test on asphalt roadbed, fully soaking it in our products.
The experiment uses concentrated NC301 chemical, while the specimen of roadbed is from normal asphalt roadbed material. We soak the roadbed in the chemical for 72 hours, and constantly monitoring the change of chemical. We applied drop test to the product after 72 hours of soaking, to observe the crack of the product.
Corrosion test on lighting equipment parts after applying cleaning reagent
Lighting equipment parts are cleaned with concentrated NC3 cleaning reagent, soaked for 90 minutes to observe the change in colour and properties of parts.
Parts of lighting equipments tested:
Casing: Aluminum ZL201;ZL107 Aluminum;60682
Glass: K5 High borosilicate glass
Washer: Silastic rubber and normal rubber

Conclusion
Properties of parts of lighting equipments are not affected by NC3 solution, however, on rubber hose, we observed a minor melting of hose.
In a nutshell, NC-3 cleaning reagent can provide a safe cleaning on lighting parts and runway pavement. It can remove the rubber stain due to airplane tyre , increase the ease of cleaning and efficiency, thus reducing the cost of cleaning.
NC301 (Super strong) Product Description
Product Content: Environmental friendly nonionic surfactant, excellent aqueous solvent group, metal ion complexing agents, alkaline additives, corrosion inhibitors to clean selected aviation ground beacon light surface dirt, stains. We selected material with biodegradable rate of more than 98% of the raw materials to ensure a product's environmental advantage.
Features: Fast cleaning speed, easy to learn and easy to use, safe and environmentally friendly
Usage: This product is sprayed on the ground beacon lights surface that requires maintenance and cleaning, with dipping of 15-20 minutes. After that, high-pressure water jets are applied on the surface to provide high-pressure cleaning and rinsing. Dirt, stains and the NC301 cleaning agent are thoroughly removed from the surface of the beacon lights, beacon lights to complete the cleaning procedure.
Suitable for: non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals, non-metallic rigid surface uncured paint dirt, grease oil, natural and synthetic resin adhesives (including rubber) and other pollutants.
Note: This product is skim strong. It is advice wear appropriate protective tools, such as: plastic protective gloves, protective eye. Keep away from children, not edible.
NC302 (stubborn stains remover ) Product Description
Content of product : This product made up of excellent dispersant, soft friction agents, friction modifiers, brightener compound to remove stubborn stains on lighting equipments. It effective remove stubborn stain from the surface of the glass lamp with insoluble stubborn stains as well as the surface of the metal material with stubborn stains.
Features: local abrasive cleaners, use a simple effect. Non-toxic and harmless.
Procedure: Shake the product well and apply the right amount of the NC302 coating on clean rag to scrub stubborn stains. After scrubbing, apply a small amount of NC303 and scrub the surface, followed by water rinse.
Suitable for: Metal surface, rigid non-metallic surfaces stubborn material stains

NC303 (General Purpose ) Product Description
Product Content: Environmental friendly nonionic surfactant, excellent aqueous solvent group, metal ion complexing agents, alkaline additives, corrosion inhibitors to clean selected aviation ground beacon light surface dirt, stains. We selected material with biodegradable rate of more than 98% of the raw materials to ensure a product's environmental advantage.
Specialty: Fast effect, easy to use and control, environment friendly and safe
Method: Spray the product on ground lightings, which required cleaning and maintenance, dip it for 15-20 minutes. After that, pressured water jet will be used to perform high pressure cleaning on the surface of the lightings. NC303 can remove the dirt stain from the surface of lighting system, after the completion of standard cleaning procedure.
Applicable on: Non-ferrous metal, ferrous metal, non-metal, as long as there is non-deposition rubber stain and dirt stain on them
